Lafzon Ka Jaal is a free daily five-by-five crossword inspired by Pakistani culture and language. Read short English clues and fill intersecting Across and Down answers using Roman Urdu and familiar English words. Every white square is checked in both directions, so an answer you know can unlock one you have not recognized yet.
Rules and tips
Small grid, shared connections
Start with a clue that feels familiar, then use its crossing letters to narrow down the others. The daily grid brings together everyday vocabulary and cultural references without requiring an account. The clues show answer lengths, and the highlighted entry tells you whether you are working Across or Down.
Roman Urdu has several established spellings. Follow the clue’s length and use the crossings to identify the spelling intended for this grid. Clues are in English, so players can approach the crossword through both language knowledge and the familiar references they recognize.
Help when you need it
Check one letter, the current word, or the entire grid. Correct checked letters lock in place, while incorrect letters stay editable. Reveal Letter supplies one answer square and marks it distinctly; a short cooldown follows each reveal. You can still solve the puzzle with hints, and your result includes the number of letters revealed.
The settings cog includes Error Check Mode. When it is on, a completed word is checked automatically. The whole grid is also checked whenever you fill its last empty square, helping you spot an incorrect crossing before you move on.
Daily play, progress, and sharing
Monday and Tuesday puzzles are easy, Wednesday and Thursday are medium, and Friday through Sunday are hard. A new puzzle arrives at your local midnight. Your browser saves progress and keeps it synchronized between tabs; the most recently focused tab is the one that accepts gameplay.
Your timer records active play, while reveal cooldowns continue during breaks. Share your completed result with elapsed time and revealed-letter count, without giving away any answer or clue. Local progress belongs to this browser and is not synchronized between devices.
